What (and who) humans have exalted is an
ever-changing standard. Artists help us understand this fluidity by immortalizing what
their societies considered most beautiful.
Our Bodies Are Art aims to give perspective on the breadth of body types found in art,
and to show users how they are represented in this bigger picture.
This application will take a photo of you, compare your body proportions against pieces in an art
database, and surface your closest matches. It is designed for female-identifying users, but
will work for anyone.
This site is made by Isabel Lee
as her Senior Project under advisor Julie Dorsey. It was built using the TensorFlow.js library
BodyPix.
Click the button below to start the application. You must first allow access to your webcam, and then text prompts will direct you through capturing and preparing your image. Have fun!
